International Business Seminars: These seminars bring in speakers from all over the U.S that specialize in a topic relevant to issues that are important to current exporters as well as new to export companies. Some of the topics include: Post 9-11, basics of importing and exporting, Central American Free Trade Agreement, Intellectual property protection on export sales among many others.
   
  Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR): A workshop to encourage private-sector product innovation. The event brings in experts to teach attendees how to develop and submit a successful proposal and obtain their share of $2 billion in federal research and development grants. Individual businesses may be awarded up to $100,000 for exploring the feasibility of an idea and up to $750,000 to expand on the results of initial feasibility studies. The grants are geared to U.S. owned businesses engaged in cutting-edge R&D with under 500 employees.
   
  Agricultural Pumping Efficiency Program (APEP) Seminars are held statewide for agriculture, large turf, and municipal water pumpers. In addition, teachers, instructors, elementary, high school, junior college, and university students are have attended APEP educational seminars. Material covered at the seminars includes how to specify an efficient pump, how to maintain an efficient pump, how to determine how much water needs to be pumped, and how to determine how much water has been pumped. PowerPoint presentations, visual aides, handouts, and mobile education trailers with displays are utilized for all educational seminars.
   
 

Backflow Prevention/Chemigation Seminars are held statewide for pest control advisers and applicators, growers, irrigators, irrigation dealers, and regulatory staff. Material covered at backflow prevention/chemigation seminars includes design, management, maintenance and operation, rules and regulations, and safety for chemigation. PowerPoint presentations, visual aides, handouts, and mobile education trailers with displays are utilized for all educational seminars.
